About Us:
Greenfingers is a thriving wholesale, trade only, cash & carry, dedicated to providing top-quality plants and exceptional customer service. We are passionate about plants, and helping our customers create beautiful outdoor spaces. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking General Plant Nursery Assistant to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our nursery. Hours of work are 8am to 5pm with unpaid breaks in the morning and afternoon and half an hour for lunch. On busy days you will be required to work past your normal hours. You will be required to work every third weekend on a rota basis with the other team members to ensure that plants are watered and the site is safe and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the care and maintenance of plants, including watering, pruning, and repotting.
  • Organise and maintain plant displays, ensuring they are visually appealing and healthy.
  • Provide assistance to customers, answering queries, offering advice, and helping with plant selection.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and organised.
  • Help with inventory management and stock replenishment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading deliveries of plants.
  • Support the team with any other tasks as required.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of a diverse plant selection, ensuring quality and presentation.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A genuine interest in plants, gardening, and horticulture.
  • Previous experience in a nursery, garden centre, or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • The role requires walking for long periods outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • The role requires the ability to lift and move heavy plants and materials.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
